Marilyn's Childhood Marilyn Monroe was born as Norma Jeana Mortenson. She was put into foster care at a young age because her mother suffered from a mental illness and was unable to care for Marilyn. Marilyn was put into foster care until she was old enough to care for herself. Marilyn had been living with a family friend, but they had to move and they couldn't take Marilyn with them. Marilyn's only choices were to go back into foster care or marry at the age of 16.

Marilyn's Death Marilyn was a very depressed person, she didn't always have confidence when she felt this way. Marilyn felt as if she wanted to be nonexistent. She was prescribed medicine to take for her depression. Marilyn was found dead, lying nude next to a bottle of sleep pills.
“Oh damn I wish that I were dead-absolutely nonexistent-gone away from here- from everywhere but how. There is always bridges-the Brooklyn bridge. But no I love that bridge (everything is beautiful form there and the air is so clean.)” -Marilyn Monroe
